UMS Department of Student Affairs organized a day-long Intercollege Declamation Contest on the 28th of February 2023 at the Ayun auditorium, Army Medical College. The participants of the contest hailed from the 11 NUMS constituent and affiliated colleges from across the country. The contest consisted of 04 events that included declamation and extempore in both English and Urdu. A team of four students represented Wah Medical College in the contest. The participants included:
1. Areeshah Habib from 2nd Year – Participant for English Extempore
2.Muhammad Ameem ul Ihsan from 2nd Year- Participant for English Declamation
3. Muhammad Abad Ur Rehman from 3rd Year – Participant for Urdu Extempore
4. Ayesha Saddiqua from Final year – Participant for Urdu Declamation
Vice Chancellor National University of Medical Sciences (NUMS) Lt Gen Wasim Alamgir, HI(M) was the guest of honor. English and Urdu Jury Members were invited from reputed higher educational institutes of Islamabad to choose the winners after two rounds of Declamation and Extempore.
It gives us immense pleasure and pride to announce that our contestant Ayesha Saddiqua won the 1st position in Urdu declamation while Abad Ur Rehman stood second in Urdu extempore. Out of the 8 positions for the 04 events, Wah Medical College got two positions, Army Medical College got three while Quetta IMS, CMH Kharian and CMH Lahore got one position each.
Ayesha Saddiqua and Abad-ur-Rehman also won huge applause from the audience for their brilliant oratory skills and confidence.
