Local-Quality Enhancement Cell
Introduction:
The Local-Quality Enhancement Cell (L-QEC) of Wah Medical College (WMC) was established in 2018 under the umbrella of QEC NUMS and Quality Assurance Agency of Higher Education Commission. The responsibility of L-QEC is to assess and evaluate the academic policies , programs and give recommendations for improvements if required.During the period 2018-2025, there is an incremental progress in L-QEC performance.L-QEC is engaged in accomplishments of targets set to achieve excellence in program delivery and bringing it in line with the standards set for quality education at national and international level.
Vision
To improve the quality of medical education at Wah Medical College (WMC) by implementing the standards of regulatory authorities.
Mission
To continuously enhance the satisfaction of stakeholders by implementing the standards and improving the processes.
The objectives of the self-assessment are to:
- Maintain and enhance academic standards
- Enhance students learning
- Verify that the existing programs meet their objectives and institutional goals
- Provide feedback for quality assurance of academic programs
- Prepare the academic program for review by HEC/PMDC.

Engr. Mubashir Nawaz Warraich is the Head of the Local Quality Enhancement cell with 35 years of diversified management, quality assurance, research related matters, examinations and academic experience in high-ranked universities of Pakistan. Based on the previous organizational and potential records he was awarded Tamga-e-Imtiaz, a letter of commendation by the Chief of Naval Staff (CNS), letters of appreciation by the Rector NUST and Vice-chancellor UET, Taxila. Before joining the Wah Medical College, he served as Director Quality Enhancement Cell and Director of Academics with Additional charge of Controller of Examination at UET Taxila.

I hold an MSc in Statistics from the University of the Punjab, Lahore, one of the top-ranked universities in Pakistan. I subsequently completed my PhD in Statistics from Islamia College University, Peshawar, Pakistan, which is also a well-reputed and highly ranked public sector university. I have published research papers in HEC-recognized U.S.-based journals in the ‘W’ category, as well as some other Articles in international journals with high impact factors. My research work focuses on Statistical Analysis, Econometrics and Regression Analysis, Statistical Inference, Biostatistics with Machine Learning Techniques, and applied data analysis in medical and health sciences. Previously, I served as a Biostatistician in the Community Medicine Department at Watim Medical and Dental College, where I provided statistical support for medical research and academic projects. I have also conducted multiple workshops on SPSS data analysis and research article writing for MBBS, BDS, and FCPS doctors.
Currently, I am working as a Data Analyst in the L-QEC Department at Wah Medical College, Wah Cantt, Taxila, where I am involved in data management, quality enhancement, and analytical reporting for academic and institutional improvement.

Mr. Sohail Mustafa is serving at Wah Medical College for 18 years as a computer literate clerk and computer operator. Due to his experience and efficiency, he is now serving as a senior computer operator and Data entry operator at L-QEC WMC.
