Convocation Report: Wah Medical College – 14th and 15th Batch – March 11, 2023 The Convocation ceremony for the 14th and 15th batches of Wah Medical College was held on March 11, 2023, marking a momentous occasion for the graduating medical students. This event was a celebration of their academic achievements and the transition from medical students to qualified medical professionals. The ceremony took place at the auditorium within Wah Medical College campus, adorned with the college’s colors and emblem, symbolizing the culmination of years of hard work and dedication. The event commenced with the recitation from the holy Quran followed by the national anthem. The Principal, Maj. Gen.(R) Prof. Abdul Khaliq Naveed HI (M), presented the annual report of the College. By virtue of authority vested in the Vice Chancellor of National University of Medical Sciences, the graduates were admitted to the Degree of Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery. Thereafter, the Dean Wah Medical College, Prof Dr Musarrat Ramzan, administered the Oath to the graduates. The heart of the event was the formal conferment of medical degrees, each graduate walked across the stage to receive their degree from the VC NUMS, Lt Gen Wasim Alamgir. The top-performing graduates from both batches were acknowledged and awarded for their outstanding achievements in various fields of medicine and surgery. Romeela khan was announced to be the best graduate of the 14th batch and Amina Ali of the 15th batch. The esteemed guest of honor, VC NUMS, delivered an inspirational address. The speaker shared valuable insights and encouraged the graduates to continue their pursuit of excellence and ethical practice in their medical careers. He also awarded the top three positions of both the batches with cash cheque awards of Rs 300000, Rs 200000 and Rs 100000 respectively. A group photograph of the graduates with the faculty was followed by a hearty lunch allowing graduates and their families to celebrate their achievements and share moments of joy with faculty and fellow students.
